Quote Challenge | english version

Hello there people!! It’s been a little while since I last posted something here, and truth is I’ve been struggling with the contents. I’m currently working on a top 5 underrated tv shows since I watch an awful lot of them. But we’ll see how that goes.

Right now I wanted to present you the quotes challenge made by a dear friend of mine on bookstagram librosconte ( Nai ) ; I really suck at challenges that’s why I didn’t — or couldn’t? complete it. So I’m doing it here all at once. They may not be my ALL TIME favorite quotes, but are related to the books I recently read. So here we go!!!!

WARNING: IT MAY CONTENT SPOILERS

“My words are unerring tools of
destruction, and I’ve come unequipped with the ability to disarm them.”
Maggie Stiefvater, The Raven Boys

For some time I felt exactly like this. It was easy to get into fights for the things I used to utter. It wasn’t my intention to hurt someone and for real, I was just expressing myself wrongly. But I felt like every time I open my mouth, it’d come something mean. I relate to Gansey in more than one way, but this is definitely something we had in common.

Look, I didn’t want to be a half-blood.
If you’re reading this because you think you might be one, my advice is: close this book right now. Believe whatever lie your mom or dad told you about your birth, and try to lead a normal life.
Being a half-blood is dangerous. It’s scary. Most of the time, it gets you killed in painful, nasty ways.
If you’re a normal kid, reading this because you think it’s fiction, great. Read on. I envy you for being able to believe that none of this ever happened.
But if you recognize yourself in these pages —if you feel something stirring inside —stop reading immediately. You might be one of us. And once you know that, it’s only a matter of time before they sense it too, and they’ll come for you.
Don’t say I didn’t warm you.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The lighting thief. — Rick Riordan

I mean come on guys, if Rick Riordan isn’t a master… THE master of the first sentences, then I dunno who it’s…

P//S; yes, I know this is not a sentence but four or five paragraphs, but … the whole thing rocks, don’t blame me ;A;

For once I didn’t look back. – Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Rick Riordan

I don’t want to spoil anyone which book of Percy Jackson and the Olympians this belongs to, but hell to the yeah. Shed bloody tears in that book ;u;

“Behold!” Percy shouted. “The god’s chosen beverage. Tremble before the horror of Diet Coke!” — Rick Riordan, The Mark of Athena

The heroes of the Olympus have hilarious quotes, and hilarious characters. Meet Leo Valdez and Percy Jackson. These two and their thoughts/quotes, you guys won’t stop laughing x)

“It was a house for those who could not take care of themselves, for those who heard voices, who had strange thoughts and did strange things. The house was meant to keep them in. Once they came, they never left.”
Madeleine Roux, Asylum

I don’t think I ever read a book that truly scared me, but the Asylum saga by Madeleine Roux was close enough. It’s a shame though how the small stories sucked b*lls. I preferred the novels. Still need to read Catacombs…

Stepping forward, leaning over the hood of the car, Ronan pressed his finger to the windshield, and while they watched, he wrote: REMEMBERED – The Raven Boys, Maggie Stiefvater

This scene was a little bit too long to write, and truth is I wanted to write just a sentence, so if you read TRB, you’ll know which scene is. I can’t remember if I cried but I felt so  sad when reading it, and this tugged in my heart strings for Ronan’s gesture :,( he’s a wonderful soul. They all are.

“You have to be a bit of a liar to tell the story the right way” — The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss

I honestly don’t have just one favorite character and simply couldn’t pick, so here you have. One of my endless favorite boys: Kvothe. ( or maybe this was about Kvothe? o-o oops? )

The world was collapsing, and the only thing that really mattered to me was that she was alive. —Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Rick Riordan

Again, not gonna say who this belongs to because spoilers, but this OTP… it’s not hard to guess though. I love love love love them. ♥

And that’s all for now!!! Countless thanks for read this, and feel free to comment your favorite quotes 🙂 —Nic
